Phew! All gallleries are posted!
Congrats to all the racers, teams, pit crews, workers, and everyone else that is even remotely involved in a solid 5 hours of racing. The season may be over, but keep checking back here for updates. There will be many highlights added throughout the offseason to keep the racing gears spinning! Thanks to everyone for a fantastic season! See you all at the banquet....

DCTC/Ridingcourse.com - September 2nd, 2006

September 3rd, 2006

Photos from Saturday's riding course have been posted!

First off, a HUGE thanks to Greg Kolles from Pinnacle signs for the use of his bucket truck for the day. I am really happy with how the shots worked out, and I think you all will be too.

Secondly, a HUGE thanks to all of you! I had a very successful year down at DCTC in 2006, and can't wait for the 2007 season! It is you, the riders, that keep me coming back weekend after weekend. Your support and continued business is greatly appreciated. Your feedback helps me take better photos, try new angles, and strive every weekend to be original and make you look FAST. THANK YOU!

TrackAddix - August 28th, 2006

September 3rd, 2006

The photos from the TrackAddix Monday August 28th trackday and school have been posted! Thanks to everyone for their patience, it took me a bit longer than usual to get these posted but I hope you'll find it's worth the wait! Great to see everyone and a special thanks to Kelli for letting me ride her 1000rr to Cory for letting me tear up the track on the '06 R6 for a session!

DCTC/Ridingcourse.com - August 12th, 2006

August 13th, 2006

Another great day for shooting Steve's ridingcourse.com on Saturday! I saw lots and lots of familiar faces and met some new ones, too. I got more waves and middle fingers (thanks, Darren) from riders on the track than I can remember...

After shooting DCTC for 3 years now it amazes me there are still new ways to shoot old corners. I tried a bunch of new angles and positions to not only make everyone look fast, but hopefully show off riding position so it helps you learn, too. In each session I tried to shoot at least a few photos of the same angle so you can watch the progression of your body position as the day went on. Once again I saw a lot of upright riders in the morning who were confident in hanging off by the end of the day. Nice work, everyone!

DCTC/Ridingcourse.com - July 23rd, 2006

July 24rd, 2006

Well if it isn't one thing, it's another. Turns out my issues with uploading the galleries last night were not related to my server, but rather the internet connection where it is hosted. Everything is stable now, and I just finished posting the last of the photos to the DCTC gallery. Thanks to everyone for their patience, and I really appreciate the phone calls. Now back to your regularly scheduled program....

CRA Weekend and TrackAddix Trackday

July 20th, 2006

Hot enough for ya?

Seriously - 98 degrees in the shade, 73% humidity, and a track temp of 150+. Come the dead of winter we will all be remembering this past CRA weekend up at Brainerd, or at least I will. Congrats to all the racers for braving the heat. I don't know how you guys (and gals) do it. I will openly admit I was retreating to the A/C in my truck whenever I had the chance...

Just to balance things out, the TrackAddix track day on Monday turned out to be perfect. It was a great day to stand outside and shoot some photos, and probably an even better day to ride!

Update: TrackAddix photos posted!

CRA June Weekend @ BIR

June 21th , 2006

Many years ago, when I first started shooting CRA, if someone would have told me that I'd be covering 18 races in one day I probably would have laughed in their face. But, sure enough - shooting solid from 8am to 5pm yielded some 3800 photos. This is normal for a full weekend, but overwhelming for a day. Standing outside turn 8 with a bunch of full memory cards that I had to get offloaded before the next race sure made me wish I had an assistant... But a HUGE thanks to all the corner workers for letting me do my thing and get where I needed to go.

Anyways, the racing was a blast to watch through the lens on Sunday. Chad Bakkne threw his bike at me in turn 9, Matt Losen tried to show off his lines by drawing marks on the track with his rear tire, Jensen went sideways more often than straight, and I saw some wicked passing in all the classes. I never thought I'd see so much back and forth passing in only 7 laps. There are plenty of group shots in your galleries, and I think I nailed some good solo pics from practice and midpoint in the races.

DCTC/Ridingcourse.com - June 11th 2006

June 12th, 2006

Photos are posted!

Sunday turned out to be a fantastic day, and probably the best photos I've shot at DCTC this year so far. Contrary to what some might think, the overcast conditions in the morning are actually perfect for shooting very detailed photos of bikes. The flat light means the shadows aren't as harsh and the bikes look fantastic. If you have been waiting to get a big print of your bike looking its best, now is the time! The rain shots turned out great after lunch, and the sun even came out a bit later on in the afternoon to really make the colors pop. All in all this was a great day of shooting!

And again, I would like to say thanks to everyone - new riders, racers, trackday junkies, workers, staff, etc for their support over the past few years. I'm entering my 3rd year of shooting down there and it's always a treat. I love the corner access and the laid back atmosphere of riders who are just there to learn. Many you have said how my photos have helped you in the past and I hope they continue to do so. Since I shot all day on Sunday you should notice a chance. Even the rowdy riders were getting farther over as the day went on.

Road America AMA Superbike double-header - June 2-4 2006

June 5th , 2006

Once again, I was covering AMA Superbike racing at Road America this past weekend. If you practiced, qualified, or raced, I have photos of you. Due to AMA and RA media restrictions I can't just post the entire library from the weekend online, so please contact me with your rider number and I will send you a link to your gallery.

Hedonistic Enthusiasm and Ridingcourse.com

May 22nd , 2006

Two full days of shooting, and some 4000 photos later, the galleries from this past weekend at DCTC are now available. I have to say it was nice standing outside all weeked and not getting rained on for a change! While it was a little cool in the mornings, both Saturday and Sunday turned out nice with warm temps and great light.

Pat Hahn's Hedonistic Enthusiasm on Saturday gave me another wide variety of bikes to shoot, with VFR's seeming to dominate the field. And of course a few cruisers and another huge Goldwing (which required me to take a few steps backwards to fit it all in the frame). Thanks to Pat for inviting me to shoot!

Sunday's ridingcourse.com was chilly, but the sun quickly came out and warmed everyone up. It was the most full I have seen the paddock area since I can last remember, with about a thousand canopies dotting the skyline which made for some nice backgrounds on the later afternoon shots. It was great seeing all the MNSBR folk on the scene, and meeting some new faces as well. This is the first time I've shot an all black R6 and that thing is truly mean looking on the track. Check it out!

On both days I fulfilled all the requests for "custom" shots, which as you may not know is something I'll always do. Feeling good on a particular corner? Are you chasing a buddy around the track? I'll always make sure to grab those and any other special requests as the day goes on. And as always - check your riding position! Photos don't just make you look fast, they're a learning tool as well. Thanks everyone!

Northstar BMWCCA @ bRainerd - May 13-14, 2006

May 17th , 2006

Welcome back, Northstar members! It was great to see familiar faces and meet new ones this past weekend at BIR. Thanks to everyone for your feedback at Saturday's dinner! Special thanks to Jorge Rimblas for inviting me to come up there. It's always a pleasure to come shoot you guys (and gals) tearing up the track.

Just a few notes before you check out the gallery - I tried to move around and offer a variety of angles and shooting styles to please pretty much everyone. Be sure to check each page of your session. Also, because of the inclement weather my camera picked up a bit of dust, so you'll notice a dark spot on the right hand side of the photo. This will obviously NOT be in your purchased image. All of the gallery photos are unedited and taken directly off camera. Each image you purchase will be cleaned up and color corrected so it looks its best.

As always, please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions you have in regards to your order. Thanks!

DCTC/Ridingcourse.com - May 6, 2006

May 10th , 2006

What more can be said about a perfect weather day down at DCTC for Steve Bauman's riding course? How about the most diverse field of bikes I've seen in quite a while... Gixxers, GoldWings, Bimmers, Busas, Fizzers, Viffers, and even a Magna! Great job everyone. Did you learn something new? Get used to scraping hard parts yet? Look closely at the photos - there is at least one of every rider with a huge smile on their face.

Ran into some problems with getting the photos posted and I had to do it the old-fashioned way. But they're up now, so enjoy! Remember, I move around a lot at this track, so check each page from your session. See you folks down at DCTC again in a few weeks!

CRA Opening weekend @ MAM

May 2nd , 2006

When it rains, it pours. And when it pours, CRA racers turn laps! No question, this was the wettest weekend I have ever shot. My monopod+umbrella rig worked well on Saturday in the rain, so at least my camera was dry. Me - not so much. Sunday the wind and rain combo was just impossible to shoot, so I didn't shoot any sprints that day, sorry!

There was a flash of good luck in the fact the rain stopped long enough on Saturday to run the first endurance race of the season and the "unofficial" pitbike race. Congratulations to all the racers and teams for braving the wet and running some great races this past weekend! And big thanks to the pitbike racers for providing me some classic photos, and not running into me when I was standing in the middle of the track.

This is also my first weekend handling the mixed sprint/endurance format. I placed the endurance photos at the bottom of the weekend's CRA gallery, so be sure to scroll down. Also, I shot most of the practice sessions on Saturday, so if you were riding an endurance bike with the original (non-endurance) race number on it, be sure to check the practice/sprints section as well as the endurance. If this format is too much of a PITA, I will likely switch to a seperate endurance page smiliar to what I've done in the past.

April 1, 2006 MAM Photos posted

April 6th, 2006

Well I ran into some techincal troubles, but the photos have finally been posted! Thanks to everyone for your patience.

Click here for the TrackAddix - Apri 1, 2006 - MAM photos.

The ordering process is the same this year, but don't hesitate to contact me with any questions. Now that the season is in full swing, I am back to the 7-10 day turnaround on print orders, and 24-48 hours for digitals.

Thanks for making the first track day a success! See you at the next event, CRA @ MAM at the end of the month.

Home from Iowa

April 3rd, 2006

So, get those cobwebs shaken out of your head? Did you exercise those track muscles that have been lying dormant for a few months? Finally scrub down that set of take offs from last year?

It was great to see old friends, and make new ones this past weekend. TrackAddix staff practice on Friday was definitely a good day to be on a bike - anyone who might have been a little chilly only needed to don a set of leathers and go turn some laps! Saturday was a beautiful first track day of the season. Sunday - well, much respect to those who stuck around to practice in the rain! I fired off a few shots in that morning before the rain came down, but with all the photos to sort from Saturday and the really thick mud around the track (my monopod kept sinking and getting stuck), I decided to leave early. I have maybe 10 photos from Sunday morning that I will just include in Saturday's gallery.

The good news is, Corey drove half of the way home from the track so I was able to get a LOT of sorting done on the photos. The bad news is, I trusted my weekend's work to a brand new MacBook Pro. Not saying anything bad about Apple's latest laptop, but I should have tested things before putting all my eggs in one basket.... I learned the hard way that my particular machine has issues waking up from sleep (not unlike its owner, actually). I ran the battery down sorting through photos, saved my image catalog, and put the machine to sleep. When I got home and plugged back into AC power, the laptop froze with my catalog open. No big deal, I'll just restart, right?

Wrong. Turns out my entire image catalog became corrupted during that little hiccup. I was hoping to get the first track day of the year posted early for a change, but it appears as if I'm back to the original estimate of Tuesday night for the galleries to be posted.

Keep checking this page for updates, or click here and I will email you when the galleries have been uploaded.

See you Tuesday night!

TrackAddix @ MAM....

March 28th, 2006

The first track day of the season is 4 days away!

NOW are you ready? Corey and I will be heading down to Iowa on Thursday evening and will be at the track all weekend. Right now the weather looks to be holding up nicely (although don't blame me for cursing it), and I'm looking forward to not having to wear my winter jacket at MAM this year.

Dean has told me the New Racer school and track weekends are SOLD OUT. Hope you got your registration in on time! I got my trusty sv all track-ready and will be chasing some of you around out there when I'm not shooting. Trust me, if I don't make you look fast on camera I can at least let you pass an SV on the straight.

If you placed an order with me recently and would like to get your photos at the track, let me know ASAP. Otherwise I will mail everything out on Thursday so you should have your prints when you get back.

See you at the track!

Gearing up for 2006

March 18th , 2006

it's March 18th - is your bike ready for the 2006 season yet? ...Well?

The 2006 Schedule has been posted. Some of you may notice the Trackaddix events are all but absent from my schedule. This was not an easy decision for me to make, but due to increased responsibilities at my day job I had to step back the number of outstate events I could cover in 2006. I had a great conversation with Dean last week, and we agreed this was the best move. At this point I am still a sponsor of Trackaddix, and I will be attending the April 1st weekend @ MAM, as well as the two BIR trackdays. To all my past Trackaddix customers - Thank you for your business! I hope to run into you again at some point this year. For those of you who are not Trackaddix customers yet, go check out one of the most professional and feature-filled track day companies in the country - www.trackaddix.com

However, the rest of my schedule is still full of events. I WILL be shooting all CRA events this year, AMA at Road America, most of the DCTC/Ridingcourse.com track schools, the NorthStar BMW CCA school, and the usual smattering of air shows. Photo pricing will remain the same for 2006.

As far as this site goes, I'm making lots of improvements on the back end that will greatly help my order turnaround time. Also, the search engine is almost finished so you will soon be able to search for your photos by rider number, file name, and event. And last but not least - by popular demand - I am one release form away from posting the crash page.

Stay tuned in the coming weeks as I will be updating this page more frequently with news and updates.

Now get back to work on that bike!

- Jonah
